Parent Education & Community Safety Programs
H.E.A.L International promotes parent education by offering adult ESL courses that strengthen communication skills, cultural understanding, and parental engagement. These courses empower parents to more effectively support their children’s education, advocate for their families, and navigate essential systems within the United States.
In addition, H.E.A.L collaborates closely with law enforcement and judicial partners—including the FBI, Buffalo Police Department, and Family Court judges—to deliver culturally responsive workshops focused on child preventive care, domestic violence prevention, human trafficking awareness, and community safety. These workshops are designed to educate families while building trust between refugee and immigrant communities and public institutions.
Through these partnerships, H.E.A.L has been successful in addressing and resolving culturally sensitive cases by bridging gaps in understanding, promoting prevention, and ensuring families receive appropriate support and resources.
Goal:
To educate refugee families about American laws in order to reduce domestic violence, prevent incidents of child neglect and abuse, and promote family strengthening, safety, and well-being within the community.
